My name is Kimberly Calixte. Born in New York and raised in South Florida, I am the third of 3 girls. Accustomed to being raised in a household of females, I guess you can say I’m a little bit girly. l love pink and anything sparkly! I especially enjoy anything dealing with art; drawing, crafts, decorating, you name it. I moved to North Carolina on a whim looking for a change. So far I’m loving It here! The southern charm, the slower pace of everyday life, the change of seasons; I’m all for it! The core of my value system is my relationship with God. I’m constantly busy with spiritual activities and enjoy being able to help people learn about the Bible. My love for people and desire to find ways to help has led me to this career path as an OT and despite the crazy student loans, I am so happy with my choice. I especially love working with the kids. Everyday I leave work, tired but so satisfied in knowing I’m making a difference. I’m so thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful team here at Allied Rehab!
At Allied Rehab, we want you to feel connected and like you’re part of our family when you choose our practice for your therapy needs. We want you to get to know our staff better so we are beginning a series called “Staff feature”.
Each feature in the month of December will be holiday themed so that you can learn more about each member of our amazing team AND get in the Christmas spirit!
Without further ado, we introduce you to Carly, one of our amazing Speech therapists!
The 4th of July (fireworks are my favorite)
Monkey Bread (it’s basically a big pull apart cinnamon roll!). My mom makes it every Christmas Eve so we can eat it while we open presents.
Having a big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve with all my family and then waking up early Christmas morning to open presents!
Being a speech therapist is great for SO many reasons. But, my favorite thing is probably getting to work and hang out with these kiddos. I love helping them and seeing them succeed and being able to celebrate all the successes with them and their families. The kids that I work with bring so much fun to each day, they make going to work 10 times more exciting and enjoyable!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas over at Allied Rehab!
Head over to our facebook to share your favorite holiday decoration!
This year our goal was to raise $1,000 for the Autism Society of NC. With your help, we were able to raise just over $1,300.00!!
Not only did we get to raise money for a fantastic organization, our team got to participate in the walk! This is an event that is very near and dear to the heart of Allied Rehab!
We want to say a BIG thank you once again to the Allied Rehab team and to each person who donated this year to help us beat our goal!
Teresa Hale, PT, founder of Allied Rehab (PT, OT, ST), has been elected by her NC peers and appointed to the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners by Governor Roy Cooper to serve a 3-year term.
“I am deeply honored and humbled that my fellow PT’s in North Carolina voted for me to serve as a Board member. The trust and integrity required to protect the public while ensuring that our physical therapists adhere to high practice standards requires thoughtful and ethical review.”, Hale says.
You’ll see Teresa’s signature on every new PT’s license for the next 3 years! Please help me in congratulating Teresa for her hard work and willingness/ability to give back to the PT community! – Charlotte
Medicare/Medicaid comes out completely at random (seriously- we get NO warning) to perform an “audit”. They are basically checking that we are who we say we are, the therapists are actively licensed, up to date on criminal background checks, TB tests, are completing accurate documentation, we are correctly billing for services, have regular OSHA/HIPAA compliance meetings/drills, etc. Whew! They came out last week and we are happy to share they found NO DEFICIENCIES!
A job well done to all of us at Allied Rehab! – Charlotte
We had a wonderful time at the Senior Lifestyle Expo on 3/19 and 3/20/18! Our Physical Therapists Beth and Jennifer performed complimentary balance and gait assessments while Noelle, our Patient and Referrals Coordinator, had a great time connecting with attendees at our booth! Thank you to the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a great event for our community 💙
Last month was our 30th Anniversary of business in Wake Forest! Teresa opened Allied Rehab in 1987. Check out this letter from our Governor, Roy Cooper:
Beth M. helping a patient develop strong fine motor skills… Proof that work can be fun!
These silly faces want to wish you all the joys of the season and happiness throughout the coming year! Allied Rehab staff’s annual Christmas party took place at Brooks Street Bowl in Wake Forest.
